23-year-old critically injured in a major Florida crash

Florida Highway Patrol reported a serious Florida crash near Orange Park Northway around 10:30 AM on Monday, February 6.

Reports indicate that the crash occurred when an SUV lost control at Blanding Boulevard and crashed hard into an intersection and an ongoing SUV nearly simultaneously. The victim’s SUV overturned, leading to the driver ejecting from it.

The vehicle driver that hit the intersection and caused the accident was a 36-year-old man, while the ejected victim turned out to be a 23-year-old man.

Troopers said the 23-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital.  It appears that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The 36-year-old, however, sustained no injuries.

The crash shut down northbound traffic on Normandy Boulevard for more than two hours, forcing traffic to divert to Plaza Circle.

The injured man is in our thoughts and prayers, and we wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

This major Florida crash likely stemmed from negligence

Florida is experiencing a dramatic increase in tragic traffic accidents caused by driver negligence over the past several years. Unfortunately, some reckless drivers show little concern for their safety or that of others, repeatedly endangering themselves and others.

In terms of auto accidents, Florida is considered one of the most dangerous states in the country – over 400,000 crashes are reported in the Sunshine State every year, more than anywhere else. These collisions cause more than 250,000 injuries and over 3,000 deaths.

Often, crash victims suffer debilitating injuries that can disrupt their entire lives.

When you or a loved one has sustained injuries in a car accident, you must determine the cause and circumstances of the incident, especially if another party is at fault. Even if you were partially responsible or not at fault, compensation may be available to cover much of your accident-related expenses.
