St Petersburg, FL (September 20, 2021) – On Sunday, September 19, one person was killed and another injured following a two-vehicle accident in St. Petersburg.
The crash was reported that afternoon at around 12:20 p.m. The scene was located on Interstate 275 near Gandy Boulevard. A 44-year-old man from Belle Fourche, South Dakota was traveling southbound on a motorcycle.
Ahead of the rider, an SUV was slowing due to traffic on the interstate. The motorcyclist crashed into the rear of the vehicle. Both the rider and the passenger of the bike, a 49-year-old Fort Myer woman, were ejected due to the impact. Both victims were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. The passenger later succumbed to her injuries.
The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
