Bradenton, FL (September 19, 2022) – On Saturday, September 17, one person was killed and three others were injured following a head-on crash in the Bradenton area.
The deadly crash was reported on FL-70 near Robert McGee Road at around 3:36 p.m. Local sources indicated that a sedan headed east veered into oncoming traffic and hit the front of a pickup truck. The impact caused the sedan to spin out, and the pickup left the road and crashed into a barbed-wire fence.
A passenger in the sedan, a 21-year-old woman from Palmetto, sustained fatal injuries. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The 30-year-old Bradenton man driving the sedan was also hurt.
The 67-year-old man driving the pickup and his 14-year-old passenger were injured and hospitalized. No additional updates have been provided.
An ongoing crash investigation is in progress.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Fatal Head-On Collisions in Florida
The power of the impact in a head-on collision is influenced by the speeds of both involved vehicles. Car accidents involving head-on collisions have the potential to be fatal. Although they account for the smallest proportion of collisions, they are involved in a large number of fatal crashes nationwide.
A legal lawsuit is brought when a wrongful death claim is made. The estate of the deceased person is filed in court on behalf of their survivors by the personal representative of the estate. Its objective is to get financial compensation from the person or entity that caused the dead person’s death, which might have been prevented, in order to show that the behavior was unbearable and that it was not acceptable.
In the state of Florida, only those with a close personal relationship to the deceased are qualified to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Criminal prosecution is different from wrongful death litigation. Both forms of procedures may be brought against the party who is seen to be at fault concurrently. If the loss of a loved one was brought on by the negligence or carelessness of another person, you can be entitled to compensation.
