Brandon, FL (September 7, 2021) – A Riverview man died after hitting a piece of debris on the roadway in Brandon on Sunday, September 5.
The incident occurred on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. At around 3:25 p.m., local authorities reported that a 52-year-old Riverman was driving a sedan was headed southbound. The vehicle’s bumper fell off north of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway.
A 63-year-old Riverman was trailing the sedan in a motorcycle at the time. The man hit the debris, causing him to be ejected from the bike. The man hit the guardrail and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the medical facility.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in progress.
