Car collision in Jacksonville plunges a vehicle into a river, claims one life

In a car collision in Jacksonville, the vehicle reportedly plunged into the river from the Buckman Bridge on the morning of Tuesday, February 27, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 3:30 AM when a Chevrolet road ranger pickup crashed into a Toyota pickup truck. The Toyota smashed through the barrier wall and went into the water. Rescue crews waded through the river for more than three hours to get the car out. The driver of the Toyota, 61, died in the collision.
The Chevrolet driver escaped injuries but looked visibly distressed. He stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Florida department of transportation released a statement that the accident is under pending investigation and more info will be released soon.
