Clearwater, FL – Cyclist Hurt in Hit-&-Run at Myrtle Ave & Jones St

Clearwater, FL (August 17, 2022) – On Tuesday, August 16, a hit-and-run accident in Clearwater left a cyclist injured. The accident took place near the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Jones Street that afternoon at around 3:30 p.m.
Emergency responders and law enforcement were called to the scene. They found an injured cyclist in serious condition. The at-fault driver failed to remain at the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to have been a Toyota or Hyundai with a missing rear hubcap.
The injured victim was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
