Ellenton, FL – Cuc Luong Fatally Hit on Bike on Mendoza Rd

Ellenton, FL (May 18, 2022) – A local woman was killed following a hit-and-run crash in Ellenton on Monday evening, May 16. The deadly accident took place at the intersection of Mendoza Road and Ridgewood Boulevard at around 11:45 p.m.

It was reported that 61-year-old Cuc Luong was riding her bicycle along the roadway when she was hit by an oncoming sedan. The at-fault motorist did not stop and fled the scene. Luong was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to her injuries.

The side-view mirror of the suspect vehicle fell off at the scene. Local authorities are seeking information regarding the identity of the at-fault driver. No further information has been released at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement.
