Florida motorcycle collision injures rider seriously

A Florida motorcycle collision at Wild Acres Road resulted in serious injuries to the motorcycle rider. Crews from Largo Fire Rescue reported that the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of Ulmerton Road early in the morning on Friday, January 27.
According to officials from Florida Highway Patrol, the biker was ejected from his Suzuki after the collision. He suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the trauma center of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in a Bayflite helicopter. The sedan driver was not injured, did not leave the scene, and cooperated with investigators.
Westbound lanes of the roadway were closed for more than an hour as vehicles and debris were cleared. Neither the injured motorcycle rider nor the sedan driver’s identity has been released.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and will release more details when available.
