Head-on collision in Florida kills two and critically injures one

Manatee county was witness to a tragic head-on collision in Florida on Monday, December 26 that claimed the lives of two people, Florida Highway Patrol announced.

The fatal crash occurred when a sedan, traveling west on SR 62, drove into the eastbound lane in an attempt to pass westbound traffic and crashed head-on into an oncoming car.

The westbound sedan toppled, while the second car swerved into the side of the road – killing its passenger.

The driver of the sedan was also pronounced dead. There has been no information released regarding the condition of the other driver.

A detailed investigation by the Traffic Homicide Unit of Florida Highway Patrol is underway into the fatal crash.

Our deepest condolences go out to the bereaved families. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the injured for a speedy recovery.
