Our thoughts are with Ciera McKeon and her family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
Pedestrian Accidents in Florida
In 2017, nearly every 88 minutes, a pedestrian was killed by a motor vehicle in the United States, with 5,977 pedestrians killed on American roads. Pedestrians in Florida are especially vulnerable to serious injuries in the event of a collision. Florida had the second-highest number of pedestrian deaths in the country, with 708 reported in 2019.
When a pedestrian accident occurs, the person on foot is likely to sustain much more serious injuries. While it is true that pedestrians are responsible for keeping an eye out for potential hazards on the road, drivers also have a responsibility to avoid injuring others when operating a vehicle. In most cases, drivers fail to keep an eye out for pedestrians as they should. Pedestrians who have been injured should contact a Holiday pedestrian injury lawyer right away to protect their legal rights.
