Horrific pedestrian crash in Boca Raton kills one

Florida Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian crash in Boca Raton on I-95 at about 6:30 AM on Sunday, February 12. The unfortunate crash before Exit 15 on Glades Road ended tragically with the pedestrian’s death.
Initial investigations reveal that a man was “standing/walking in the inside lane” of the highway when a white Ford utility truck crashed into him. He was thrown from the inside lane into the middle lane, only to be struck by a gray Hyundai almost immediately. By the time Boca Raton Fire Rescue personnel arrived on the scene, the pedestrian had already died.
As a result of the crash, all southbound lanes were closed for a long time, with traffic diverted to Yamato/Spanish River exit. It took until 1:30 PM for the lanes to open and for traffic to normalize.
The investigation is currently in its early stages and no further details were released.
