Lakeland, FL (November 15, 2021) – There were reported injuries after a crash involving a train and a motor vehicle in the Lakeland area on Saturday morning, November 13. Around 8:54 a.m., that incident took place at S. Wabash Avenue and Old Lakeland Highway.
Nearly 24 train cars were involved in the crash. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. All roadways in the area were closed. There were two parties injured at the scene. One of the victims sustained a head injury, and both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
An ongoing accident investigation is underway.
