Deadly Bicycle Accidents in Tampa
Bicycle crashes account for almost 2% of all traffic fatalities reported each year in the United States, with the majority of fatalities resulting from head injuries. Florida is by far one of the most hazardous places for bikers. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles recorded 6,633 bicycle accidents in 2019, an increase from the year before. Bicycle deaths in the state have also climbed, from 150 in 2018 to 155 in 2019.
Survivors of a fatal bicycle crash often suffer a range of losses as a result of the accident, and they may be able to recoup lost compensation by submitting a wrongful death claim with the help of an expert Florida wrongful death attorney. The sorrow and devastation of losing a loved one due to someone else’s negligence are unbearable, and it can leave those close to the victim with unexpected expenditures. In a wrongful death case in Tampa, a representative of the decedent’s estate — usually a close family member — seeks damages from individuals responsible for the person’s death in order to recover damages by making the at-fault party liable for their role in a tragic accident.
While no amount of money can replace the loss of a loved one, a wrongful death lawsuit in Florida may help families cope with the financial repercussions of the tragedy, and this compensation should be provided by the culpable party’s insurance carrier. Rebein Law recognizes the grief and suffering that families experience when a family member is killed as a consequence of someone else’s actions, and we want to do everything we can to assist you in getting back on your feet. Following the loss of a loved one, our legal team is dedicated to ensuring that each of our clients receives the compensation they are entitled to, which begins with the filing of a wrongful death claim.
