Lee Co, FL (July 21, 2021) – A St. Petersburg woman suffered fatal injuries following a motor vehicle crash in Lee County on Sunday, July 18.
Local reports revealed that the deadly accident occurred near the crossing of Daniels Parkway and Eagle Ridge Drive late that evening. The Florida Highway Patrol indicated that a Fort Myers man was traveling east on Daniels Parkway when he hydroplaned after driving through standing water on the roadway. The driver lost control veered into the westbound lanes of the roadway, crashing into the St. Petersburg woman’s sport-utility vehicle.
The Fort Myers man was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The St. Petersburg woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. At this time, the identities of the involved parties have not been released.
An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local authorities.
