Lithia, FL (August 29, 2022) – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene when a driver was killed during a head-on crash on Tuesday, August 23rd.
The incident took place at about 6:00 a.m. in the area of Katie Stanaland Road and State Route 674 in Lithia.
According to sources, a driver heading eastbound on SR-674 swerved over the highway’s centerline and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
At this point, it is unclear why the driver crossed the centerline.
The deceased has been identified as a 30-year-old male resident of Wimauma.
The driver of the striking vehicle was unharmed during the impact.
