Lutz, FL – Man Killed in Traffic Crash on SR-54 near Heron Cove Dr

Lutz, FL (October 15, 2022) – A fatal traffic collision occurred in Lutz on Wednesday, October 12. A 53-year-old Lutz man was killed in the crash that occurred on STate Road 54.

Reports indicate that the wreck occurred on State Road 54 near Heron Cove Drive. Other people were injured in the wreck, among them were a 9 and 11-year-old boy from Port Richey.

The man’s car was traveling west on State Road 54 at around 4:32 p.m. when two other cars were traveling east. For reasons unknown, the vehicles collided. All three vehicles rotated and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of State Road 54.

The man from Lutz was fatally injured and lost his life at the crash scene. The second vehicle was driven by a 52-year-old man from Land O’ Lakes who suffered serious injuries.

The third vehicle involved was driven by a woman from Port Richey, age 49. She and the two young boys suffered minor injuries. No one involved has been identified at this time.

Authorities in Lutz continue to investigate the details of the accident.
