Man killed in a fatal Pasco County car crash
Last updated Tuesday, March 28th, 2023
A fatal Pasco County car crash on the infamous US-19 highway, often regarded as one of the deadliest roads in the United States, took another life on Sunday, March 26.
It happened just before 2:00 PM as a northbound SUV turned left at the Sea Ranch Drive intersection and collided with a southbound pickup. Both vehicles overturned, ended up on the grass median and west shoulder, and were severely damaged.
The SUV driver, a 79-year-old man from New Port Richey, died of injuries sustained in the collision. At the time of the crash, he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, according to police. The pickup truck driver, a man of 35, and his four passengers, ages 30, 8, 10, and 4, escaped the accident with minor injuries. The injured victims – all from Spring Field – were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
A police investigation is underway to figure out what happened.
Our deepest condolences go out to the deceased’s friends and family in this time of loss.

Pasco County car crash caused by intersection distraction
You can get into an accident at an intersection without being at fault. Often, drivers can’t anticipate the time it will take them to get to the intersection, veer into the wrong lane, or come to a complete stop because they are uncertain about traffic signals.
In intersection accidents, the most common causes are failure to stop at a red light, running a yellow light, and not yielding to another driver.
One-half of all traffic injuries in the United States happen at intersections. These crashes can lead to life-changing injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal problems, or death.
In an intersection accident, police reports, state laws, and witness reports can tell you who’s at fault. It’s best to take action as soon as you can. You want to secure evidence while it’s still accessible because it can disappear quickly.
Your first priority should be getting justice for your loved one’s passing before considering compensation. An intersection accident lawyer from Rebein Law firm will help you gather evidence and seek compensation for your damages. We will assist you in getting justice and compensation for your loss.
