Miami car crash on Interstate-95 kills 3
Last updated Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023
A Miami car crash claimed the lives of three people on Sunday, January 01, 2023, on I-95, forcing officials to close the southbound lanes for a long time.
The accident happened at about 4:40 AM when a Nissan Altima, traveling north on I-95 in the area of NW 95th Street, lost control and crashed into a Dodge Challenger.
Nissan then veered off the road onto the green space, crashed into a tree on the right shoulder, and caught fire.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that five people were inside the Nissan at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, three of the occupants died inside the vehicle. The other two occupants were likely ejected from the car which saved their lives. They were both taken to the hospital.
The Florida Highway Patrol closed NW 79th Street to NW 95th Street as it investigated the crash.
Our deepest condolences are extended to the deceased’s family members in this difficult time. Thinking of and praying for the injured.
