Multi-Vehicle crash in Florida; three victims airlifted
Last updated Saturday, February 18th, 2023
Three people suffered critical injuries and had to be airlifted to emergency following a multi-vehicle crash in Florida. The collision occurred at about 3 PM on Monday, January 23, on Highway 97 in Molino. There were three vehicles involved in the wreck: a GMC Hummer, a pickup truck, and a passenger car.
Escambia County Fire Rescue, multiple Escambia County EMS units, and the Sheriff’s office responded to the scene.
Reports indicate that two victims were males in their 60s. EMS also transported another patient with injuries, not in need of critical care to a local hospital.
Three different medical helicopter services were called upon to transport the three injured – declared “trauma alerts” – to the hospital from a temporary landing pad set up at Molino Park Elementary School.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and is expected to release more details in the coming days. The crash closed down Highway 97 and led to long traffic detours.
Our prayers are with the injured and we wish them a speedy recovery.
