New Port Richey, FL (October 16, 2021) – A wheelchair-bound man was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while crossing a street in New Port Richey on Thursday, October 14.

The incident took place at the corner of Rowan Road and Massachusetts Avenue. According to initial reports, the man was traveling at the intersection at around 4:40 p.m. He was hit by a sport utility vehicle making a left turn.

The pedestrian was ejected from his chair in the impact. He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
