North Port, FL – Two Teens Killed in Rollover Crash on Sumter Blvd

North Port, FL (November 17, 2022) – On Wednesday, November 16, two teenagers were killed in a single-vehicle accident in the North Port area. 

The fatal accident was reported on Sumter Boulevard near Lorri Circle late that evening. A 17-year-old was traveling in a Honda Accord at a high rate of speed as they approached the intersection. The vehicle started to slide and vaulted over the bridge rail before overturning onto its roof. 

An off-duty officer heard the crash and rushed to the scene to attempt to extricate the driver and their 16-year-old passenger. Both victims sustained fatal injuries. 

No further updates have been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local authorities.
