Okahumpka, FL (October 3, 2022) – A two-vehicle accident in Okahumpka left one person dead and another injured on Sunday, October 2.
The deadly crash was reported at the intersection of County Road 470 and County Road 33 at around 8:44 a.m. The driver of an eastbound SUV ran a red light and was by an oncoming semi-truck. The 33-year-old Bradenton man driving the SUV was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
A 25-year-old Sarasota man riding in the SUV sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
