One dead after a two-car wreck in Florida

An early morning two-car wreck in Florida claimed a life on Sunday, February 26, near Cemetery Road in Bunnell, Flagler County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers report a southbound SUV drove over the grass median of US-1 and crashed into the right side of a northbound SUV. The driver of the vehicle that swerved across the median was not wearing a seatbelt and was killed at the scene. He was identified as a 27 year old man from Daytona.

The driver of the other SUV, a 42 year old Palm Coast woman, suffered only minor injuries and remained at the scene.

Investigators are still looking into the crash and should release more information soon.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the departed man. We heartily hope and pray that the injured woman will recover quickly.

A reckless two-car wreck in Florida

Fatal accidents caused by driver negligence are the biggest killers in this country, and sadly, this one wasn’t an exception. Drivers who don’t drive carefully risk their lives and the lives of others.

Let’s hope you can learn from such reckless crashes and try to prevent disasters by practicing a few straightforward rules of safe driving:

  • DUI is never a good idea
  • Don’t text and drive
  • Never drive without a seatbelt
  • Overspeeding during the dark isn’t a good idea

It is important to investigate the cause and circumstances of a road accident as soon as possible when you or a loved one are injured.
