One killed in a multiple car crash on 1-95

Florida Highway Patrol reports a multiple car crash on I-95 in Palm Beach killed one person on Tuesday, March 7, in Palm Beach county shortly after 9:30 PM.

Apparently, the mishap started when a northbound red Chevrolet Colorado Pick-up Truck on the inside center lane veered off the road onto the paved shoulder, drove right into the concrete median, and drifted to the right into the path of a red Tesla Model 3.

The Chevrolet lost control, swerved towards the inside shoulder, flipped several times, slammed into the concrete median again, and eventually landed right side up, facing north, between the inside shoulder and inside lane. The Tesla driver could control and steer his car safely to the side. As all this commotion played out, a white Mercedes GLB 250 SUV cruising in the middle lane had its windscreen shattered by debris from the wreck.

Both the driver and the passenger of the Chevy got flung out. The passenger, a woman of 31, died at the scene following severe injuries. The driver, a 50 year old man, was significantly injured and had to be taken to St. Mary’s Medical Hospital by the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue department. Drivers of the Tesla and the Mercedes escaped injuries.

Traffic was backed up before the Forest Hill Boulevard exit, easing just before exit 66, Forest Hill Boulevard for a long time.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased woman as they endure this difficult time. We hope for a speedy recovery for the injured.
