Pinellas Park, FL – Bicyclist Killed in Fatal Crash on 62nd Ave N

Pinellas Park, FL (September 11, 2022) – A man from Pinellas Park was arrested in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 11 after taking the life of a bicyclist in a DUI collision. Information provided by the Florida Highway Patrol reveals that the wreck occurred on 62nd Avenue North. 

Nicholas Carusotti, age 29, was headed east on 62nd Avenue North when he collided with a bicyclist headed in the same direction. The driver continued driving for a short time until his vehicle stopped running due to the wreck. 

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Carusotti then fled the vehicle and traveled on foot until he was apprehended by police officers in Pinellas Park. 

Carusotti was reported to be impaired at the time of the accident. The bicyclist was identified as a resident of Brewster, New York, age 64. He died from his injuries at the crash site. 

Carusotti is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and DUI manslaughter. 

Police continue to investigate.
