Pinellas Park, FL (October 24, 2021) – A Port Richey man was critically injured after a motorcycle crash in Pinellas Park on Saturday, October 23.

The crash occurred at the intersection of US-19 and Bryan Dairy Road early that morning at around 2:20 a.m. The area was reportedly under construction and both sides of the entry ramp were covered with concrete barriers. Local authorities revealed that 23-year-old Hannah Kiousis of Safety Harbor was entering the ramp at the time of the crash.

Kiousis collided with a motorcycle operated by 22-year-old Robert Fallon of Port Richey. Fallon was thrown from his bike and taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Kiousis showed signs of impairment and was charged with driving under the influence.

An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Motorcycle Crashes in Florida

Pinellas Park, FL - Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash at US-19 & Bryan Dairy RdIn 2016, 600 motorcycle deaths occurred in Florida, with 409 of them involving another vehicle. Motorcycle riders are 27 times more likely than passenger car passengers to die in a collision, with more than 80% of motorcycle crashes resulting in death or disability. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, wearing a helmet reduces the risk of death by about 37%.

Motorcyclists have limited protection when colliding with a motor vehicle, even if they follow the appropriate safety protocol. As a result, the injuries sustained will almost certainly be more serious. Even the most basic road hazards, such as potholes, ice, cracks, or slick roadways, pose a significantly higher risk to motorcycle riders. Motorcyclists are more likely to suffer major injuries. Riders might be paralyzed, become amputees, or suffer other lasting disabilities as a result of motorcycle accidents. Victims of these accidents may be eligible for compensation for their losses. After being wounded as a result of another driver’s reckless acts, a skilled Florida automobile accident lawyer can help victims recover and rebuild their lives.
