Poinciana, FL – Man Charged in Hit-&-Run at Cedar Side Dr & Rio Grande Canyon Lp

Poinciana, FL (November 16, 2022) – An 11-year-old was hurt after being hit by a car in the Poinciana area on Tuesday morning, November 15.

The accident was reported near the corner of Cedar Side Drive and Rio Grande Canyon Loop at around 8 a.m. The victim was walking near the intersection when they were hit by a dark-colored Toyota 4-Runner. The driver initially fled the scene.

The injured party was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The at-fault motorist was later identified as 66-year-old Pierre Carmelo Jacinthe of Poinciana. Jacinthe turned himself over to authorities and is currently facing charges related to the incident.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
