San Antonio, FL (May 17, 2022) – A total of six people were hurt, including five children, following a car crash in San Antonio on Monday morning, May 16. The accident was reported at around 2:15 a.m. on Interstate 75 near mile marker 289.
It was reported that 26-year-old Ashley Clairmonte of Tampa was driving a 2015 Buick Encore on the roadway. She was reportedly tired and impaired while she was stopped in the inside lane of the highway. That is when her vehicle was hit from behind by a 2004 Chevy Tracker.
The Buick overturned due to the impact. Clairmonte reportedly fled the scene but late returned. She was arrested by authorities for driving under the influence. The woman driving the Chevy and five children in the vehicle were injured, and a 1-year-old reportedly suffered critical injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Rollover Crashes in Florida
Rollover collisions have grown increasingly prevalent on Florida highways and roads. Driver inattention and bad road conditions are common causes of rollover crashes that result in severe or fatal casualties. In 2010, rollover crashes accounted for more than 35% of deadly accidents involving passenger cars, but only around 2% of all registered automobile accidents.

As a result of your personal injury claim, you may be faced with medical expenses in hundreds of thousands of dollars. When insurance companies reimburse crash victims for their losses, they lose money. That’s why they’re so good at hiding the full cost of your injuries.
