St Petersburg, FL (May 17, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car in St. Petersburg on Monday night, May 16. At around 10:30 p.m. the deadly accident took place on 34th Street N.
It was reported that 52-year-old Alija Boskovic was walking along the roadway when she was hit by a white Ford Mustang driven by 27-year-old Randy Peterson Jr. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peterson fled the scene on foot but was stopped by witnesses. He was later taken into custody and charged with fleeing the scene of a deadly accident.
An investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is in progress.
