Wrong-Way Collisions in Florida
While wrong-way collisions are uncommon, recent data suggests that the number of fatal wrong-way collisions is on the rise. According to the American Automobile Association, 500 people were killed in wrong-way crashes between 2015 and 2018. Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous, accounting for approximately 10% of all fatal crashes each year and with a fatality rate of nearly 58%.
In the United States, car accidents are the leading cause of death and serious injury, with more fatal collisions occurring each year. Even if an accident victim is not killed, they may suffer life-changing injuries, leaving them with mounting medical bills and no way to pay them. This difficult financial and emotional situation may quickly overwhelm innocent victims. After a serious car accident, it’s critical to get the compensation you need, which is why victims should speak with an experienced St. Petersburg auto accident attorney to improve their chances of a successful personal injury claim.
