St Petersburg, FL (November 10, 2021) – A man was arrested in connection with a fatal bicycle accident in St. Petersburg on Thursday, November 4. The incident occurred at the intersection of 18th Avenue N. and 66th Street N. at around 12 p.m.
Local reports revealed that a 77-year-old man was traveling westbound by bicycle at the time of the crash. The rider was then hit by another man riding an electric scooter. The at-fault party fled the scene without rendering aid.
The cyclist was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities later located the operator of the scooter, 22-year-old Tyler Brady. He was subsequently charged with manslaughter.
An ongoing accident investigation is being handled by local authorities.
