St Petersburg, FL (April 29, 2021) – A 14-year-old suffered serious injuries after being involved in a pedestrian accident in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, April 28.
The crash occurred early that morning at around 6:30 a.m. at the crossing of US-19 and 50th Avenue N. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the teen was walking west on the highway in order to ride a PSTA bus to school. It was then that the pedestrian was hit by a northbound van just south of the intersection.
The injured party was transported to a nearby medical facility in serious condition. The 30-year-old driver of the van was uninjured. No further information on the pedestrian accident has been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.
