St Petersburg, MS (March 22, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by another driver in St. Petersburg on Sunday night, March 20. The deadly crash was reported at the intersection of 1st Avenue N. and 30th Street N. at around 5:04 p.m.
The driver of a Mini Cooper was reportedly attempting to make a turn onto 30th Street when they entered the path of a black Harley Davidson Street Glide. Both vehicles collided at the scene.
The motorcyclist, 41-year-old Elijah Cates, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly motorcycle accident is underway.
