Pedestrian Crashes in Tampa FL
In the United States, a pedestrian was killed every 88 minutes on average in 2017. Florida pedestrians are particularly susceptible, as the state has a reputation for being a hazardous location for pedestrians, particularly in big cities. Pedestrians are particularly susceptible since there is nothing that can be done to protect them from the full impact of a collision.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, pedestrians are 1.5 times more likely than passenger car passengers to be killed in a vehicle collision. Pedestrians are killed or injured in car accidents at an increasing rate each year, despite a decrease in the overall number of fatal crashes.
