Tampa, FL (November 12, 2022) – On Thursday, November 10th, a 10-year-old boy lost his life in a fatal pedestrian crash in Tampa. According to information from local reports, the accident happened when he and a male adult were riding a motorized scooter on West Hillsborough Avenue.
Information from local reports shows that the wreck happened near North Himes Avenue on West Hillsborough Avenue. The boy and an older male were riding a scooter when the adult lost control. Both the man and the boy fell off the scooter and landed in the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The vehicle was turning into the Murphy Express Gas Station along West Hillsborough Avenue just before 7:00 p.m. when it struck the two individuals. The names of the involved parties have not been released at this time.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital where the boy was pronounced deceased. The person who struck them was arrested for DUI manslaughter and driving with a suspended license causing death.
Authorities in Tampa continue to investigate the details of the accident.
