Tampa, FL – Chanetra Neely Arrested for Deadly Bicycle Crash at 22nd St & 28th Ave

Tampa, FL (September 2, 2021) – A woman was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Tampa that occurred on Sunday, August 29.

The site of the deadly accident was located at the crossing of N. 22nd Street and E. 28th Avenue. According to local reports, the incident took place at around 5:30 p.m. The victim, a 60-year-old man, was riding a bicycle at the intersection when he was hit by a beige Nissan Altima.

The driver and passenger reportedly led the scene. They later returned after paramedics had arrived. The injured party reportedly sustained an injury to the arm. He was taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead a few days later. The driver, 33-year-old Chanetra Neely, was arrested for leaving the scene of a deadly car crash.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
