Tampa, FL (September 26, 2022) – A crash in Tampa on Saturday, September 24, ended in the death of a bicyclist.
The fatal accident was reported on Saturday morning, September 24, near the 5100 block of W. Grandy Boulevard on the Gandy Bridge. A cyclist was riding on the road when they were struck by an oncoming motor vehicle. The injured rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three lanes on the roadway were closed following the crash. The area was later re-opened that afternoon.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
