Tampa, FL – Driver Charged with DUI in Scooter Accident at FL-574 & Coconut Palm Dr

Tampa, FL (April 1, 2022) – The rider of a motor scooter was critically injured after being hit by an alleged drunk driver in Tampa on Thursday morning, March 31. The crash was reported at the intersection of FL-574 and Coconut Palm Drive at around 3 a.m.

A 35-year-old man from Brandon was riding a Wolf motor scooter on the highway when he was hit by a Toyota Camry. 31-year-old Devin Robert Oder from Tampa was driving the vehicle and reportedly driving fast. He abruptly hit the brakes before hitting the victim.

The injured party was transported to Tampa General in critical condition. Oder refused a breath test and was taken to jail for charges related to driving under the influence.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
