Florida Auto Accidents & Injuries to Victims
Florida is one of the three states with the highest number of recorded auto accidents annually. More than 400,000 car collisions occur annually on average in the Sunshine State. Over 150,000 people are injured, and over 3,000 die as a result of these crashes. Alarmingly, driver carelessness is the leading cause of these collisions.
Typical examples of driving carelessly or negligently while behind the wheel include:
- Speeding and/or intoxication
Distraction is presently the single most prevalent cause of automobile accidents in the United States. In 2019, over 420,000 people were hurt in car accidents caused by distracted drivers in the nation. Drivers who choose to pay attention to their phones, the passengers in their car, or anything other than the road place themselves and everyone else on the road in grave danger of injury or death.
When you or a loved one has been injured in a vehicle accident caused by a negligent driver, it is crucial that you understand your legal rights. In the United States, driver carelessness is unlawful and has become a severe issue that causes thousands of injuries and fatalities annually. Due to their irresponsible and thoughtless behavior, negligent drivers are often required to pay high penalties and may even face prison time. Those injured as a result of a negligent driver are entitled to monetary compensation that may help them cover part or all of the expenses associated with their accidents. Medical expenses associated with a major traffic accident may cost a lot, to say the least. When combined with costly car repairs and missing pay, a victim’s money account may be depleted and their nerves frayed.
