Florida Deadly Pedestrian Accidents
There isn’t much that can be done to keep people safe from the full force of a crash. As a result, pedestrians are at greater risk of being seriously injured. Pedestrians are 1.5 times more likely than passenger car occupants to be killed in a vehicle collision, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
In 2017, a pedestrian was murdered every 88 minutes on average in the United States. Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable in Florida. The state has a bad reputation for being a dangerous destination. This is particularly true in major cities. Pedestrians are being killed or wounded in vehicle accidents at an increasing rate each year, despite general mortality rates being on the down.
