Hit-&-Run Accidents in Florida
Walking is a great way to get around, but it also comes with unique risks. With 5,433 pedestrian fatalities documented between 2008 and 2017, Florida is regularly the state where pedestrians are most at risk. Just last year, there were 640 pedestrian accidents and 57 fatalities in the Tampa area alone.
When using Florida’s roads, both drivers and pedestrians must abide by the state’s safety regulations. Therefore, both or any party may be found liable in court for a pedestrian collision. Sometimes both the pedestrian and the driver are at blame in a collision involving a pedestrian. A pedestrian who is hurt may be entitled to compensation even if they contributed significantly to the accident since Florida is a comparative fault state.
Due to their vulnerability and lack of protection, pedestrians who are struck by cars frequently suffer catastrophic injuries. The key to winning compensation in a pedestrian accident lawsuit in Tampa is proving that the driver who hit you was careless and accountable for your injuries. It is not always simple to demonstrate that the motorist was careless and accountable for the harm.
