Tampa, FL (July 22, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision in the Tampa area ended in the death of a Spring Hill woman on Wednesday, July 21.
The fatal accident occurred on Interstate 4 near the crossing with 50th Street that morning at around 8:35 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 37-year-old St. Petersburg man was traveling east on the interstate in a sport-utility vehicle when he crashed into the back of another car while making a lane change. The impact caused the second vehicle to crash into the barrier and guardrail separating the east and westbound lanes of the highway.
The 58-year-old Spring Hill woman driving the other car suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead. The St. Petersburg man was also injured following the accident. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the fatal accident is being undertaken by local authorities.
