Tampa, FL – Two Men Changing Tire Fatally Struck by Car on I-275

Tampa, FL (March 14, 2022) – Two men were killed after being hit by a car while changing a tire on Interstate 275 in Tampa on Sunday.

Local reports revealed that a 73-year-old man pulled over at a left front tire blew out on the highway. The man was later assisted by a 30-year-old man who arrived at the scene. While both men were on the driver’s side of the vehicle, both were struck by a 36-year-old man.

The other driver reportedly swerved and hit the two pedestrians after falling asleep at the wheel. The younger man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the older victim was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No other injuries were reported. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
