Two dead and five injured in a Florida highway crash

A Florida road crash claimed two people’s lives and injured five others in Decatur County on Saturday, January 14.

The Decatur County Fire Rescue reports that the crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a Chevrolet pickup truck occurred just around the afternoon close to Hannatown Road and Jep Martin Road intersection.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Toyota driver, 22, veered off the road, attempted to correct, lost control, and ultimately crashed into the truck. The brutal crash killed the Toyota driver as well as the 18-year-old passenger.

The 23-year-old driver of the truck, along with 4 other passengers, were among those injured. Hospital reports indicate serious injuries to a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old.

This crash involved seven people who were all from Quincy, Florida.

The tragic fatal crash is still under investigation, with more details expected soon.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased at this heartbreaking time. We send our prayers and hope that the injured victims are able to recover completely and quickly.
