Venice, FL (June 12, 2021) – On Friday, June 11, a Clermont Man suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident in the Venice area.

Local reports revealed that a 73-year-old Venice man was traveling eastbound on FL-776 when he entered the left-turn lane at Jacaranda Boulevard. At that time, a 50-year-old Clermont man was riding a motorcycle westbound on the highway and entered the left-hand lane at the same intersection. The Venice man continued to turn into the path of the rider.

The two vehicles collided, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike. The Clermont man riding the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Neither the Venice man nor his two passengers suffered injuries in the impact.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Motorcycle Accidents in Tampa FL

Venice, FL - Clermont Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash at FL-776 & Jacaranda BlvdMotorcycles are a popular pastime in Tampa, and many city residents enjoy riding their bikes around the city. Unfortunately, these vehicles expose riders to a great deal of road danger. Motorcyclists are known to have a greater chance of suffering fatal injuries in a collision, and many drivers fail to look out for riders as they should, causing serious collisions in the process. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 80% of motorcycle accidents result in death or injury, and motorcyclists are 27 times more likely than those traveling in passenger cars to die in an accident. In 2016, 600 motorcycle fatalities were reported in Florida, with 409 of these fatal collisions involving another vehicle. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, wearing a helmet reduces the risk of death by about 37%.

Motorcyclists have limited protection when colliding with a motor vehicle, even if they follow the appropriate safety practice, meaning that the following injuries are almost guaranteed to be more severe. Even the most frequent road hazards, such as potholes, ice, cracks, and slick roadways, provide a far larger risk to riders than to drivers, putting riders at a higher risk of serious injury. Motorcycle accidents in Florida can leave riders paralyzed, amputees, or with other lifelong disabilities, and victims may be entitled to loss compensation. After being wounded by another driver’s reckless acts, a skilled attorney can help accident victims recover and rebuild their lives.
