Woman hit and killed in Orange County pedestrian crash

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an Orange County pedestrian crash that killed a 51-year-old woman late Thursday night, March 3, on Colonial Drive at County Road 13 in Bithlo.

The crash report says an eastbound Dodge SUV was traveling east on Colonial Drive, approaching CR-13, when it struck the Orlando woman trying to cross the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver, a Sebastian man, 37, and his passenger, a 52-year-old Melbourne woman, escaped injuries.

The SUV driver stopped at the crash site and cooperated, troopers say. A police investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.

Our deepest condolences go out to the departed woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
