Zephyrhills, FL (July 4, 2021) – An overnight crash involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle ended in a fatality in the Zephyrhills area on Sunday, June 4.
At around 2:18 a.m. that morning, emergency responders were called to the scene at the intersection of Allen Road and Happy Days Drive. Local sources indicated that a 17-year-old cyclist was riding southbound along with a 15-year-old cyclist. The driver of an approaching Mustang reportedly lost control, crashing into the 17-year-old rider.
The injured party suffered fatal injuries in the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Andrea Nadine Woods, was reportedly over three times the legal blood alcohol content limit. She was arrested for driving under the influence-manslaughter.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is underway. No further updates have been provided at this time.
