Gibsonton, FL – Teen Loses Life in Pedestrian Crash on US-41

Gibsonton, FL (August 12, 2024) – A 13-year-old girl lost her life as a result of a pedestrian collision reported in Hillsborough County on Saturday evening, August 10.

At around 10:55 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado, which was driven by a 17-year-old male, on US Highway 41 near Big Bend Road. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and immediately closed down a large portion of the roadway while assisting. The girl suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased while still at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash. At this time, the police department is investigating the collision.
