Hillsborough Co., FL – Child Fatally Injured in Auto Wreck on I-4

Hillsborough Co., FL (November 30, 2024) – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 1-year-old girl on Friday morning, November 29.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene at around 12:45 a.m. Official reports indicate that a 30-year-old was driving a Toyota RAV4 east on Interstate 4, followed by a Jeep Cherokee, which was driven by a 21-year-old. For unknown reasons, the Jeep overtook the Toyota and rear-ended the vehicle. The impact of the crash caused both of the vehicles to come to rest inside the eastbound lanes and on the outside shoulder. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. Additionally, three children were injured in the crash. The victims, identified as a 1-year-old girl, a 6-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old boy, were all rushed to area hospitals for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the 1-year-old died after arriving. At this time, the incident is under investigation.

Our sympathies go out to the family of the child killed in this crash. We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Fatal Auto Accidents in Florida

Hillsborough Co., FL – Child Fatally Injured in Auto Wreck on I-4You can get into an accident at an intersection without being at fault. Often, drivers can’t anticipate the time it will take them to get to the intersection, veer into the wrong lane, or come to a complete stop because they are uncertain about traffic signals. In intersection accidents, the most common causes are failure to stop at a red light, running a yellow light, and not yielding to another driver.

One-half of all traffic injuries in the United States happen at intersections. These crashes can lead to life-changing injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal problems, or death. In an intersection accident, police reports, state laws, and witness reports can tell you who’s at fault. It’s best to take action as soon as you can. You want to secure evidence while it’s still accessible because it can disappear quickly.

Your first priority should be getting justice for your loved one’s passing before considering compensation. An intersection accident lawyer from Rebein Law will help you gather evidence and seek compensation for your damages. We will assist you in getting justice and compensation for your loss.
