Lakeland, FL – Head-On Truck Wreck on US-98 Takes One Life

Lakeland, FL (August 20, 2024) – A man from Tampa lost his life as a result of the fatal accident that occurred on Saturday morning in Lakeland. On August 17, at around 3:15 a.m., emergency officials were called to the scene of an automobile collision on US Highway 98 N.

Police reports show that a car in a semi-truck tractor-trailer collided on the roadway near Ernest Road. The head-on collision left at least one involved vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, severely damaged. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately shut down the road to assist. One person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
